VI. ETHJA Recognized Equitation Divisions

A. Beginner Rider Equitation - Open to beginner, amateur, or junior riders of any age on horses or ponies, who have not show over fences 18" or higher. Riders may enter other classes with fences not to exceed 18"and any other flat classes they are otherwise qualified. Courses may be trotted or cantered. Flat class to walk and trot only. Fences 18".
B. Equitation 14 & Under - Open to riders 14 years old and under. Fences 2' or 2'6".
C. Equitation 15-17 - 0pen to riders 15-17 years old. Fences 3' or 2'6".
D. Adult Equitation - Open to adult amateur riders. Fences 3' or 2' 6".
E. 2' Equitation - Open to short and long stirrup riders. May cross enter any other equitation division otherwise qualified for Fences 2'.
F. ETHJA Junior Medal - Open to junior members on horses. Courses must have at least two changes of direction. The top ten riders at the end of the season quality for the finals to be held at an announced site. May be combined with the Adult Medal. Testing on the flat is encouraged. USEF tests 1-18. Fences 3'.
G. ETHJA Pony Medal - Open to junior members on ponies. Courses must have at least two changes of direction. The top ten riders at the end of the season quality for the f'mals to be held at an announced site. Testing on the flat is encouraged. USEF tests 1 - 8.  Fences small/medium 2', large 2'6".
H. ETHJA Adult Medal - Open to adult amateur members. Courses must have at least two changes of direction. The top ten riders at the end of the season quality for the finals to be held at an announced site. May be combined with the Junior Medal Testing on the flat is encouraged. USEF tests 1-18. Fences 3'.
I. All Medal qualifing will end on the show(s) held the weekend before the Medal Finals are to be held.

VII. Points-All points will be awarded as follows:

A. Local Show Points:   I st-l0 pts. , 2^nd- 6 pts. , 3^rd- 4 pts. , 4^th- 2 pts. , 5^th- 1 pt. ,6^th- ½ pt.

B. Champion and Reserve Champion-Calculated by combining the total points earned in the division. In case of a tie, the horse/pony that accumulated the most points over fences is the Champion. If there is still a tie, then Champion will be determined by either a hack off or flip of a coin.
C. Horse shows may offer Hunter Classics consisting of 2 rounds to receive double points once yearly. Classics may only be listed as 18", 2', 2"6" and 3'0". Participants must declare which division they wish to receive points in upon entry in recognized divisions offered at that show.
     Classics may be run in two ways:                                                                                                                                                                                                     
1. A separate class with 2 rounds with double points awarded in any ETHJA hunter division offered at that show.                                               
2. With a first round score coming from within the ETHJA Hunter Division offered at that show which the rider designates for the points to be counted toward. The show will designate which round in each division will be used for the first round score.
3. Show management must have this information designated in the results sent to the Points Secretary. Any show offering classics must print this entire rule in the prize list for the show offering classics.

VIII. Special End of the Year Awards

A. Betty Kendall Trophy-Awarded to the year's high point equitation rider. (Points accumulated in only  Equitation Divisions.)
B. Michelle Moore Trophy-Awarded to the year's high point hunter for points accumulated in only two divisions with the most points.
C. Wallace Mynatt Award-Awarded to the horse show parent of the year. Recipient chosen by the previous winner.
D. Sportsmanship Award-Awarded to the horse show participant that demonstrates a sportsmanlike approach to all elements of showing throughout the season
E. Lifetime Achievement Award-Awarded to a horse or pony. Recipient chosen by Susan Kuliasha.
